Trumpington Voices: Seeking Trumpington residents to interview

If you were Queen or King of Trumpington for a day, what would you do?

We’d love to hear your answers to this question (and more) for an exciting new theatre project from Cambridge-based Menagerie Theatre Company. Would you give 45 minutes of your time to be interviewed about your relationship to Trumpington?

Trumpington Voices records the ways in which this place – Trumpington – impacts upon its residents’ lives. Whether you have been here for 40 years or 40 days, live in the new developments or the older parts of Trumpington, are aged 5 or 105, we want to hear from you. And your words could end up on stage!

Trained local volunteers are interviewing people who live in Trumpington. These interviews will form the basis for an original play, performed by local residents, at the new Clay Farm Community Centre in June 2018. It will be a unique reflection of how a ‘sense of place’ affects us all. There will also be an online sound archive of all the recorded interviews which can be accessed freely at any time.

Trumpington Voices is about collecting stories and creating memories of communities and people in transition. Could that be you? Could it be someone you know? We all have a story to tell and we want to hear as many different people as possible, from all over Trumpington.
