A message from The Wildlife Trust to the Trumpington Meadows Community.
Happy New Year!
I hope you enjoyed the festive period and are raring to go again. I saw our first hare of the year today (although it was flushed by a dog) and a pair of mistle thrush were back on the meadows, always a nice early reminder that spring is not that far away. Apparently bluebells have already been seen in some local woodlands!
This is a short reminder that Wednesday 17 January will be the first volunteering session of the year. We’ll meet at 10am at our usual south side meeting spot – by the first bike rack as you go over the M11 footbridge (let me know if you need more details). We’ll be making the most of the winter and continuing to lop, saw and bash our way through some scrub, finishing the embankment and starting on the Coprolite pits.
If you’re able to send me an email confirming attendance that would be good. Please bring lunch, waterproof clothing and footwear as it is likely to be damp.
Best wishes,
Peter
